Cinderella’s Castle Ahead!

Out of the above, broken-down brownstone — my first “home” in NYC — the women of the RC have shown what a little collective creativity can achieve! Former residents of the RC are now putting the finishing touches to our memoir book to be published in December by Bear Manor Media. I may be doing the grunt work to make it all happen (thank you PBW&T & all those years creating briefs for the courts of NY!), however without all our women in support, this would NOT be happening. TRC Incorporation has created a bit of a schism at this …

Year of the Tiger!

I was told years and years ago, I had a tiger “watching over me.” And for whatever reason, I feel like this is finally MY year ahead. My mother is gone; our children are outta the house, our “roommate” is outta the house; our HOUSE is SOLD! OMG! What F R E E D O M! My last blog talked about “Coming Back, Baby” – speaking on behalf of the country who had elected Biden President. Well. Well, well, well. Rumblings of those “staunch Republicans” actually planning to bring Drumpft back??? There are none so blind as those who will not see. …

Coming Back, Baby!

There is something renewing about a sunset. Brilliant colors reminding us of God’s natural beauty. Are we, as a nation, “coming back?” My optimistic nature doubts our ever returning to “normal.” I felt this way after the Aids Epidemic hit all our dancer friends. We ALL walked the walk in later years, proud of our Broadway community rising up against a government that had …

Pandemic Power

Labor Day without labor! For theater professionals, Broadway is still dark. Zoom rooms abound with play readings which, like sugar-free ice cream, is less than satisfying. As our world in America seeks to re-open, many are determined to live their best life while making sure they wear masks and avoid crowds. During the AIDS crisis, my husband and I watched horrified as many of our Broadway dancer buds left this world at an age clocking younger than our own two daughters living today! Looking back, we realize the timing for our decision to marry prior to the outbreak, ironically, protected …

2020 Vision

Romans 12:2: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” OK, so I tried that . . . bit the bullet and took the steps to apply to Julliard for my Masters Degree. Yeah, I know . . . at this age? In Acting?? Really? What an awesome learning/growing experience to just apply! It’s not like applying to an academic college. All those A’s in my transcripts from my BA hold little value. The “recommendations,” the essay, the prepared monologues! Now, if I was on the other side of that table, …
